A New Kind of Church

Resonate is helping all kinds of people find life and experience joy through Jesus. Everything we do is about connecting you to the God of the Universe, who loves you and smiles when he thinks about you

No matter where you are on the spectrum of faith - we have a place for you.

Our Story

Resonate was born out of longing, healing, and a hopeful vision for what church could be.

After a year-long sabbatical from vocational ministry, Nick Vuicich found himself in a season of deep rest and rediscovery. He dove into classic Christian spirituality and formation—ancient practices that awakened something new and thrilling in him. Around that same time, he read a book about why people leave the church, and he recognized himself in those pages. It sparked a desire to build a church for people like that—for people like him—a place for those carrying doubts, hurts, questions, or simply a sense that faith had passed them by. Beginning in late 2016, God began whispering the idea of a church plant to Nick and Kathryn. They were reluctant at first (because who wouldn’t be?). But after months of prayer and wise counsel, their resistance slowly turned into courage. On a trip to New Braunfels, as they drove through Austin, they experienced a spiritual moment—a spark cast, a fire kindled, and a church seeded.

Two men in hats sit at a long wooden table in a pub with drinks and food. A wall behind them is covered in framed black and white photos.
An empty event space with rows of folding chairs facing a small stage. The stage has a projector screen, a black curtain, and string lights.
A man in a hat plays an acoustic guitar and sings into a microphone on a dimly lit stage with a string of lights and a black curtain backdrop.
A group of young children dancing on a colorful checkered mat in a classroom while watching a cartoon on a television screen. An adult sits with them.
A woman holds a young girl wearing bunny ears, standing next to a man. They smile in front of a white wall with festive pink and teal paper decorations.

A man stands barefoot at a tall table with a laptop, presenting in a home office with a wood accent wall, bookshelves, and professional lighting equipment.
Two musicians, a man with a guitar and a woman, stand on a covered patio with speakers and microphones, preparing to perform with a green landscape behind them.
An unfurnished office with beige walls and grey carpet. A large wooden desk with two black office chairs is visible on the left, with a tower fan in a corner.
A high-angle shot of a woman in a red jacket standing in the center of a large, empty warehouse with a concrete floor and exposed steel ceiling beams.
Interior view of a warehouse with torn and punctured white wall insulation next to a metal roll-up door and exposed brown steel beams.
A woman plays guitar and sings on a simple stage for a small, masked audience in a large warehouse-like room with camp chairs set up for seating.
A diverse group of adults and children standing in a large hall with high ceilings and string lights, arranged in rows of chairs for a service or event.

The Living Room Years

The Living Room Years

Resonate began in July 2017 in the Vuicichs’ living room in Meridian, near Circle C. It started under the name Wine & Jesus, which soon became Dinner Church. The vision was simple: recreate the kind of table Jesus sat around in the Gospels—full of food, wine, friendship, and honest conversation. Dinner Church was built on the belief that doubt, disagreement, and real questions weren’t obstacles to faith—they were critical parts of the journey. Together, we shared meals, explored Scripture, talked deeply about the things that mattered, and prayed bold prayers. Through it all, a community was quietly being formed.

A Church for the Unchurched and Dechurched

A Church for the Unchurched and Dechurched

Resonate officially launched in February 2019, with more than 75% of the community coming from unchurched or dechurched backgrounds. That mattered deeply then, and it still does now. From day one, Resonate longed to see the love of Jesus come to life—not just for church-goers, but for anyone on the spiritual margins.

We met at Baldwin Elementary until March 2020, when COVID changed everything. Like many churches, we moved online and did our best to bring hope and light into a very dark season. That same year, we moved into our current location—a former mechanic’s shop that had once housed two churches before us. With hard work, creativity, and a lot of elbow grease, the once oil-stained warehouse was transformed into the warm, beautiful sanctuary we call home today.

Growing in Faith and Family

Growing in Faith and Family

In 2021, Trey joined staff as our second staff member, bringing leadership, creativity, and a fresh spark that helped rebuild and reimagine our children’s ministry as families returned from pandemic isolation. And the story hasn’t slowed down. In 2025, Resonate added four new staff members—an unmistakable sign of God’s continued blessing and the growing ministry happening here.

Seven Years in... and Still Just Getting Started

Seven Years in... and Still Just Getting Started

Over the past eight years, Resonate has grown from a living-room dream into a flourishing church family. We’ve celebrated births, baptisms, and countless stories of people discovering—or rediscovering—the love of Jesus. Year after year, we’re seeing lives change, friendships deepen, and a community shaped by grace, hope, and belonging. We can’t wait to see what God has in store next.

Our DNA

We love these so much, that we turned these into stickers. Why? Because these are things that make us tick. These are the fingerprints that we want to leave in our community and the lives we touch.

We Take Love Seriously

Something we noticed about Jesus is that we talked a lot about love. Then we looked at our own lives and realized the impact that love, especially God’s love, has. Everything we do is about helping you experience love and give love – so that you can have a love based life.

Whole is the Goal

We want you to live a whole life. Something the Bible calls shalom. Jesus had it and we can, too. Shalom is the Hebrew word for ‘peace,’ but it’s a special kind of peace – the type that comes from fullness, harmony, and connection. Things like sin, worry, fear, loneliness, and anger are the opposite of shalom. They are the result of brokenness, shame, secrets, and isolation. We believe that Jesus is healing all that, to bring us closer to him and deeper into being whole.

Doubt is the Doorway to Faith

Everybody has doubts and this is a good thing. Even though doubting can be uncomfortable and even painful – it’s part of life and it is part of Everybody has doubts and this is a good thing. Even though doubting can be uncomfortable and even painful – it’s part of life and it is part of faith. Throughout the Bible, we see person after person having their doubts and misgivings about this God who was calling out to them. But here is the great part – these doubts, like ours, are opportunities for faith to grow, expand and evolve. Here at Resonate we make room for your doubts. We even jump into doubt with you. Not to rescue you, but to join you on your faith journey. So dust off those questions, read people who challenge your beliefs and join a church that helping each other live a life without all the answers. Faith isn’t seeing, it’s confidence in the darkness. 2 Cor. 5:7

Build Shalom in Your Life and Lives of those Around You

Shalom is the Hebrew word for peace. But it doesn’t mean calm and tranquil. Rather, Shalom is about fullness and flourishing. When life feels like it is at its best. We’ve all had those moments. They are the whispers of heaven and byproduct of a right relationship with our Creator. Shalom is the business of heaven. As Jesus said in Matthew 5, ‘blessed are the shalom-makers, because they are like God’. Building shalom is both our privilege and duty. At Resonate, we want to help you bring about shalom in your own life and the world around you- your family, your workplace, and even your world. You can do it; we can help.
